Kinley Madison

As you all know, Harrison is going to be a big brother in May.  Last month we found out we are expecting a little girl...Kinley Madison.  I am currently about 21 weeks along.  Over halfway!  I'm feeling pretty good lately, other than being tired.  We had a doctor's appointment yesterday.  Everything is right on track.  Kinley is measuring right on schedule and has a strong heartbeat!  Harrison doesn't really understand, but he will point to my tummy when we ask where Baby Kinley is.  Hopefully he does good when she gets here!

5 days of Christmas!

Harrison really enjoyed Christmas this year! Last year he was too little to really understand, but this year I think he really started to get it.

5 months old
Christmas celebrations started on Friday for us.  Harrison's Aunt Val, Memaw, PePaw, and Great Grandpa Jack came to our house.  Harrison was still recovering from a nasty croup virus, but still managed to be his typical wild man self!

He knew Aunt Val's picture needed to go on the entertainment center.

Wearing Aunt Val's hat.
Christmas Day 2 with Mama C, Auntie Em, Uncle Reed, and Cousin Addie on Saturday.

Testing out some of his stocking loot!
Check out his Rudolph shirt (Mama C's craftiness) made with his handprints and footprint!

Harrison got some quality Aunt Val time Saturday night!

Christmas Day 3 with Aunt KK, Pawpaw, Nana, and Aunt Val on Sunday.

Getting the hang of unwrapping gifts!

Sharing goldfish with Pawpaw.

Christmas Day 4 with Great Grams, Aunt Paula, Mandi, Tara, Uncle Ric, Mama C, Auntie Em, Uncle Reed, and Cousin Addie on Monday.  We did pajama breakfast in College Station this year, thus the reason for everyone being in their jammies.

This was his gift from Great Grams.  He loves riding it!!
Christmas Day 5- Christmas Day!  We stayed at our house that morning and then went to West later on to see Tim's family and my Dad.  Harrison was so excited to see his Santa gifts when he walked out of his room.  He had a huge grin on his face and went straight for the basketball goal.  I think that was definitely his favorite!

Santa came!

Later on we went to West to celebrate with the Payne family.  Harrison was pretty wild and crazy, so I was just able to get 2 pics.
Doing a flip.

Running!
Christmas was soooo much fun this year!  We had a great time hanging out with all our family and watching Harrison have so much fun!

17 months!

Harrison turned 17 months old on Christmas Eve!

Harrison is continuing to learn more and more each day! Some of his most recent accomplishments are...
-understanding the keys open the doors.  Every afternoon when he and I get home, I give him my keys, and he "unlocks" the door.
- temper fits- this isn't an accomplishment, but it had become pretty evident when he wants something his way.
-he can identify more and more pictures in books.  If we ask him, "where is...?" He points to it.
-he can do several animal sounds- dog, cow, fish, rabbit (he says hop hop), lion, bear, monkey.
-he is playing with more of his toys the way- sliding cars down ramps and across tables and floors, kicking balls, stacking blocks, etc.
-shakes his finger and says "no" when dusty gets on the table.

He still doesn't say much, but he's saying more words in his "language."
Words: ba (bath), du and shakes his head (no), doh (sock) du ee (Dusty) buh (book), baba (banana), di da (diaper), bumba (bird)  bah (ball/bat), da (dog), duh (dusty), ah ju (all gone), mama, dada, bye bye, buh buh (baby), ba ba (cup/milk), oh (hello)

Trains, trains, and more trains!!

We have recently discovered Harrison really likes trains.  We have spent alot of time watching trains on tv, talking about trains, going to see trains, and we even got him a Fisher Price Christmas train.

Last Thursday we took him to the Mayborn Museum.  They have a train exhibit there for the holidays.  It took him a little while to adjust to being somewhere new, but I think he enjoyed checking all the trains out.  This wasn't from the actual train exhibit.  I didn't get any pictures in there because I got a new camera after Thanksgiving and forgot to put the memory card in it.  Bummer :-(  This is part of the museum that is always there.  He LOVED pushing the buttons to make the trains go!  In fact we had to pick him up and carry him to the next room.

The next room we went to had all kinds of transportation and home stuff.  Harrison had fun riding on the bikes, in the cars, and pushing the wheelbarrow.

He also had a BLAST playing on this huge piano!

He played with some huge letter blocks!

The water/bubble room was another favorite!  He was soaked when we took him out of this room!

This Christmas tree is enormous!  This was the best pic I could get of the wild man standing in front of it!

I think we will be making many more trips to Mayborn.  He will enjoy it more and more as he gets older!

Back to the trains...
Yesterday, we decided to talk Harrison to see the trains at Northpark Mall.  Mama C, Memaw, and Pepaw also joined us.  We went into it not really know what to expect, but I thought it was pretty cool.  They had all kinds of trains everywhere!  It's a very detailed toy train exhibit with trains going through the Dallas skyline, New York City, California, and Washington, D.C.  Pretty impressive in my opinion!  Harrison liked it too!

He's not unhappy, he's checking out some trains up high!

He was not to sure about this.  I think he was wondering why I was making him look that hole while mama took some pics.
