36/37 weeks!

Poor Kinley. I haven't been near as good about updating on her as I was with Harrison.

The end is in sight! We are currently less that 4 weeks from my due date! These days I'm feeling pretty darn pregnant. I'm ready for her to be here, but I'm hoping she holds off just a little longer.

I have just recently gotten over 2 weeks of a terrible cold or sinus infection of some sort. Other than that, I'm dealing with the normal, annoying pregnancy symptoms- heartburn, aches and pains, swelling (although, it hasn't been near what it was when I was prego with Harrison), Braxton Hicks, etc.

I'm currently going to the doc every Wednesday. My blood pressure has been great! (Another difference from pregnancy with Harrison.). My weight gain has been fine, a little more than with H, but no concerns. I'm still measuring normal, and Kinley's heartbeat has been nice and strong.

The nursery is still coming together. Being sick really put me behind schedule on that. I've told myself as long as she has a place to sleep, it won't matter if her room is completely finished by the time she gets here. She won't know the difference.

We've been talking to Harrison about Kinley's arrival, but I know he doesn't really understand. He knows she's in my tummy, but that's about it. I fully expect some jealousy issues, but I'm hoping it won't take him too long to enjoy having her around!

Hopefully not too much longer and I'll have a post introducing Miss Kinley Madison!!

Easter Weekend- 2013

For the first time in a long time, Tim had Good Friday and the Saturday before Easter off.  Normally this would be peak busy season for him, but with the job change, he got to enjoy spending time with us Easter weekend.

Saturday afternoon, Harrison took part in his second Easter egg hunt at Nana, Pawpaw, and Aunt KK's house.  He was a pro this year.  Last year he wasn't walking yet, so we just sat him in the grass and brought him a few eggs to play with while we snapped pics.  This year, he knew exactly what to do.  We pointed out a few eggs for him and he grabbed them and put them in his basket.  He had a blast!

Ready to hunt some eggs!  He looks so grown up!

On Sunday, Harrison woke up to see the Easter Bunny had brought him some goodies.  I think the wheelbarrow and hippo golf were his favorite!

We also took him to see Grandpa (my dad).  Not only was it Easter, but it was also Grandpa's birthday.  Harrison LOVES being out on the farm.  There is so much space to run around and so many things to look at.  He checked out the horses and cows, threw rocks in the tank, and walked around the "woods."

He wasn't real sure about the cows.

He loved throwing rocks in the tank just like I did when I was little!

Walking in the woods with Grandpa.

Checking out a bluebonnet.
He was definitely tired after all the playing he did.  He fell asleep on the way home, ate lunch when we got home, and then crashed again!

Check out those long, skinny legs!!

20 Months!

Harrison turned 20 months old on March 24th!  I know I'm a little late on this blog, but I was battling a terrible cold/sinus infection/crud/whatever-you-want-to-call-it for about 2 weeks.  Thankfully, I think I'm pretty much over it!

It's hard to believe Harrison will be 2 in just 4 short months!  We see some signs of the "terrible 2's", but nothing too major.  He usually forgets about whatever he was throwing a fit about pretty quickly provided we change the subject.

Just some odds and ends:
-He has recently become a little obsessed with Dora, Diego, and Team Umizoomi on Nick Jr.  He will ask for these pretty much anytime the TV is on.  At least they're educational!
-He knows his colors.  He can point to all the "normal" colors.  He says and identifies blue, yellow, and black all the time, sometimes purple, and he is working on green and red.
-He has started trying to sing with me at night when I put him in bed.  It's pretty cute :-)
-He loves being in Kinley's room.  If Tim and I are in there working on things, he will bring his toys in there to play.

-He is working on learning his letters.  Tim does letters with him in the tub every night (we add a new letter each week), and I know Mama C works on them at her house too.
-He has gotten really good at identifying animals and objects in his books.  He doesn't always say what they are, but he can point to what you ask him to.
-He occasionally tells us when he needs his diaper changed (even though he HATES having it changed).  I asked the pedi at his 18 month appointment about potty training.  He suggested waiting until after Kinley is born unless he started showing interest.  He doesn't really show any interest, but he tells us sometimes!  At least that's a step in the right direction!
-He tries to put his clothes and shoes on, but doesn't quite have the hang of it.
-His vocabulary is growing more and more every day!
-He's really into putting his toys in other toys and under furniture.  He frequently fills up his shopping cart with toys, brings them to the living room, and switches them to the storage compartments in his cars.  The other day he piled a TON of stuff under his high chair.
-He's been sleeping with a small toddler pillow the last couple months.  He loves it.  He either snuggles up against it or lays on it like a normal pillow.
-He has started to not want to get out of his crib in the mornings.  He wants to stay in there and play and jump around.  After a nap is a different story though.  He wants out of there ASAP!
-Meals are still pretty hit and miss.  Some days he eats great, and some days he doesn't.  One day he may eat a certain food, but if you give it to him 2 days later he might not eat it.
-We are successfully down to 1 nap a day!  It's not quite as long as we would like it to be, and the time he goes down varies a little from day to day.  We try to stick with getting him down around 1, but it might be earlier.  The other day he fell asleep in his high chair while eating lunch.

He was "barking" at the neighbors dog.  Haha!
