Easter Bunny

We took Harrison to see the Easter Bunny today.  He was a little unsure, but still did a great job!  It helped that I let him hold his socks.  Crazy sock man!  No, he wasn't wearing socks with the sandals.  We just keep a pair with us at all times these days since that seems to be his security "blanket" lately :)

Bluebonnet Pics

Harrison and I ventured out to his Grandpa's (my dad) house today to take some pictures in the bluebonnets.  Other than being super curious about the bluebonnets, he did a really good job.

He also enjoyed looking at the horses and riding on Grandpa's shoulders.  I can't wait to teach him to throw balls on the barn, walk barrels, and skip rocks in the tank just like his Auntie Em, Rachel, April, and I grew up doing! He's definitely going to love it out there when he gets older!

8 months
Harrison turned 8 months today!  According to our tape measure and scale, he is about 28 inches tall and 19.4lbs.  I actually think his height is closer to 30 inches, but he was too curious about the tape measure for me to get a good measurement.

He is crawling all over the place, FAST!  He's not scared of the tile anymore, so we have the kitchen blocked off most of the time.  He goes straight for Dusty's food if he crawls in there.  He is also pulling up on EVERYTHING!!  Tables, couches, toys, entertainment center, bookcase...you name it, he pulls up on it!  He walks with the help of his push toys.  When he starts walking on his own (which I think will definitely be before his 1st birthday), we are going to have our hands FULL!

Our house is pretty much a disaster area these days.  "Hurricane Harrison" (as my mom says) pulls out all his toys and books most days and then leaves the mess for Tim and I to clean up after he goes to bed :)  I look forward to him learning to pick up his toys!

Playing and watching cartoons

Reading
Harrison started eating meats mixed with fruits and veggies a couple weeks ago.  So far he likes turkey and chicken.  He gets a new food every weekend, and he eats it several times during the week.  We can watch for possible allergies that way.  I think this is something I will keep up for a long time, not necessarily for the allergy reason, but to get him to try new things as he gets older.

He has started giving kisses- open mouth and slobbery, but it's still super sweet.  Tim has been traveling for work lately, and I think Harrison really misses him.  On Fridays when I hear the garage open, I tell Harrison, "Daddy's home!" and he crawls as fast as he can to him smiling and squealing the whole way!
Playing with Daddy
He's at such a fun age now!  Not that he hasn't always been fun, but his personality is really starting to show and he's becoming such an active little boy!  He is definitely ALL BOY, all the time!

Socks

Harrison has been obsessed with his socks lately!  You can almost always catch him with his socks in his hands or mouth, and if you take them away, he is NOT happy.  He pulls them off while he's playing, in the carseat, when he's taking a bottle, and even in his sleep!  He gets really mad when I put him in feetie pajamas and he can't pull them off his feet!  Get ready for several pics, and notice the socks in ALL of them!

Playing at Mama C's.

Pulling up on Mama C's couch.

Getting dressed in the mornings.

Playing with his table.

Getting ready for a bath.

Even IN the tub!  He would've kept them in there with him the whole bath, but I took them after the pic.

Waking up from a nap, and while he's sleeping.

Playing with his iPhone.

In the highchair getting ready to eat.

Multitasking at it's best!  Drinking his milk AND chewing on his sock.

Good Morning!

This face and crazy hair makes getting up early on my days off so much better!  He's so happy when he wakes up in the mornings!  I think he's going to be a morning person.

Books

Harrison just recently noticed his books on his toy shelf. He loves pulling them off the shelf and looking at them. We have the ones that are OK for him to look at on his own where he can reach them, and the ones he could tear up are out of his reach (for now).   Hopefully he continues to enjoy books!

"Hmmm, which one do I want?"

On to the next activity!

Pulling Up and First Bruise

Harrison has been learning soooo much lately.  The latest being pulling himself up on things.  He started doing this last week.  Mama sent me several pictures of him pulling up on different things around her house.

Needless to say, he is getting good at pulling up on things.  Well, except for our couch.  Wednesday night he was trying to pull up on the side of our couch, but he didn't quite get a good enough grip.  He fell and bumped his forehead on the edge of the couch, which resulted in a nasty bump and a bruise.  He cried.  I cried.  He was right back to his crazy, wild-man self after a few minutes and some hugs and kisses!  Even though I see things like this happen all the time at work, and I knew there was probably no need to worry too much, I still wanted to give the doc a call.  So after a talk with the on-call doc and his pedi, I felt much better about the whole situation.  No trip to the doctor was needed, thank goodness!  I know this will be the first of many bumps and bruises especially since we have such an active little boy!
