First Haircut!

After weeks of trying to decide whether or not I was ready to get Harrison's haircut, I finally decided it was time.  Tim has been ready for a while.  As you all know, he was born with a FULL head of hair, and he never lost any of it.  So, we decided this afternoon we would take him to Cuts for Kids and give it a shot.  I fully expected a screaming and crying baby.  Much to my surprise, he sat in Lightning McQueen and was perfectly content.

9 month check up!

Harrison had his 9 month well baby check up today.  It went really well.  To our surprise, he didn't have to get shots!  His next round of shots will be at 1 yr.  He's still a very long and lean little guy.  He weighs 19lbs 4oz and is 28.5in long.  His weight is right around the 20th percentile range, and his height is in the 90th percentile!  We answered a questionnaire about gross and fine motor skills and verbal and listening skills.  Dr. Huitink (the pedi) said he is right on track with all of these skills and milestones.  Yay!

He commended us on having Harrison off the bottle and on a sippy cup full time!  We also got the go ahead to move on to stage 3 baby foods and more table foods.  He's already been introduced to a few stage 3s and some table foods, but we will start trying more and more now.  I know Harrison is going to like this new stage of foods.  He is always soooo interested in what Tim and I are eating.  I think he's about over baby food.  He will shake his head "no" at a spoonful of baby food, but if I give him something he can pick up on his own, he will chow down.

Eating corn, carrots, and peas!  He LOVED them!
Yay, for a happy, healthy little dude!

Boy, I just thought the last few months were hard to get pics of this kiddo.  He definitely wasn't sitting still for this month's pics.  He is on the move AT ALL TIMES!  If he's not crawling at a high rate of speed, he's pulling up on anything and everything and walking along the furniture.  He even moves all around his crib at night!  He uses every inch of that crib.  He's a mover!  He's not walking on his own yet, but I have a feeling by the 10 month post, he will be walking or at least very close to it!  We are definitely going to have our hands full then.

He would push this thing all day, every day if he didn't run into toys or furniture.
I don't have 9 month stats yet, but we have a doctor appointment Friday, so I'll post about that later.  My guess...21lbs and 31in.  He's scheduled to get 3 shots at this apointment...BOO!  Hopefully they go as well as his 6 month shots.  I feel like since he's on the move so much, he will work that soreness out pretty quick.  Time will tell.

Harrison still just has his 2 bottom teeth.  I keep thinking 1 or 2 top ones will pop through, but they haven't yet.  Even though he just has those 2 little teeth, we have been giving him more and more finger foods and letting him taste more table foods.  He LOVES his wagon wheels, puffs, yogurt melts, and rice rusks.  He enjoys little tastes of mac & cheese, cheerios, pancakes, rice, canteloupe, baked potato, shredded cheese, cake, icing, etc.  He will pretty much eat anything we give him!

Harrison is officially OFF the bottle and on a sippy cup!
He is ALL BOY!  And, a wild one at that!
He still loves his baths.
He loves being outside!
He shakes his head "no."  Although I don't think he really connects it with the word.
He plays "catch" minus the catching...haha!  He throws a ball back and forth with Tim and I.
He waves and claps, but not on cue.
He makes a clicking noise using his tongue and roof of his mouth.
He blows raspberries.
He loves looking at books and having them read to him.
He's becoming more and more vocal.  He babbles and makes noises all the time.
He gives himself kisses in the mirror and kisses his toys.
His socks are still a necessity when he's sleeping, but not as much during the day.
He watches Sesame Street, Mickey, and other cartoons.  Anything with lots of music.
For the most part, he's pretty content when we are out to eat or running errands. He just sits in the high chair, stroller, or shopping cart and takes in his surroundings. He's pretty nosey (I think he gets that from me), so he is easily entertained when we are out and about.
He LOVES his snuggle spot.  He watches TV in it, drinks his milk in it, and just hangs out in it.

I'd say Harrison is at my favorite stage so far!  His personality is really starting to show.  He's so curious about everything, and he's all over the place.  It's just so entertaining to watch him explore and play.  If 9 months old is fun, I'm excited to see what the the future holds for our little man!

Wedding Weekend

Last weekend, Tim, Harrison, and I ventured North to Mount Pleasant, Texas for Tim's cousin's wedding.  Mount Pleasant is about a 3-3.5 hour drive, so we left Friday evening with hopes that Harrison would sleep most of the way.  Not so much.  He slept some of the way, fussed a little, played, and slept some more.  He was alseep when we finally arrived at our hotel after 10pm, but woke up ready to go when we got him out of the car.  We let him play and explore the hotel for a little while and decided it was time for all of us to go to bed since Saturday was a big day.  We took the pack 'n' play and everything from his crib here at home (that way bedtime would be as close to home as possible).  Much to our surprise, we put him in the pack 'n' play, he played for a little while, and then crashed.  He slept great!!  Tim and I on the other hand didn't sleep too well because my sinuses were acting up.

Saturday morning, Tim went to play golf with the groom and several other guys and Harrison and I went to the bridal brunch. Yes, Harrison hung out with a BUNCH of girls! He did a great job though!
Playing with my water bottle and watching cartoons before brunch.
After brunch, we went back to the hotel and took a nap while waiting for Tim to get home from golfing.  Again, much to my surprise, Harrison did a great job napping!  We relaxed and Harrison did some more exploring.  He loved the mirror that was low enough for him to stand up and look at himself in.  He would just stand there smiling and giving himself kisses.  He also liked the luggage rack that he could shake and make lots of noise!

Yes, he did that to himself!  His face is blurry because he was on the move!

The wedding was Saturday night, and Harrison did AWESOME!  He was super quiet in church and he did great at the reception.  He got a little fussy after dinner, but it was past his bedtime and he was tired of being confined to someone's lap the whole time.  He wanted to crawl around and play, but there were lots of people walking around, so it wasn't the best idea.  When he got him back to the hotel, he crawled back and forth squealing as loud as he could.

Sunday morning we had breakfast and then started home.  We stopped for lunch on the way home and to let Harrison get out of his carseat and stretch.

I think he enjoyed his weekend away, but he was ready to be back home!  Once we got home we decided to enjoy the beautiful weather with a walk around the neighborhood.

It was a great weekend, but it's nice to be home!

Congratulations Brad and Mandie Payne!  The wedding was beautiful!!
