16 months and Gaylord ICE!

Despite the fact Harrison was getting over a virus/throat infection, he still had a pretty eventful 16 month "birthday."  Wednesday evening he started running a low grade temp.  We went on to College Station Thursday for Thanksgiving with my family, and he continued to have a little bit of a temp.  Friday morning we decided we would take him to the pedi to get checked before we left town for the weekend.  Verdict: viral infection, red throat.  No need to cancel weekend plans though.  So Friday he ate popsicles, drank lots of fluids, ate several fruit/veggie pouches, and took several baths.  We succeeded in keeping his temp pretty reasonable most of the day.  We decided we would keep an eye on him till lunch Saturday, and if he seemed to be OK, we would go on with our plan of taking to see Merry Madagascar ICE at the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine.  Saturday morning he had no temp and his energy was starting to come back, so we headed North!  As soon as we got to the hotel, we had to RUSH to get checked in and get in line for ICE.  (A little background on ICE...  The Gaylord Hotel does ICE every year.  They bring in 40 ice sculptors from China to hand carve whatever theme that has been chosen for that year.  Everything is made of ice, and at the end there's a big ice slide!  They give you a parka before you go in because it's only 9 degrees in there!)

He's not really as unhappy as he looks.  He was so bundled up that he could barely move.

You can tell how bundled he was.  Poor guy could barely move!

He had a blast pushing his stroller around the hotel room.

Sunday morning Harrison woke up super early so we got up, got ready, ate breakfast, and did some walking around the hotel.
He pushed the stroller ALL over the place!  At least it was super early in the morning, so there weren't many people around.

There was a train that caught his eye behind the sleigh.

Watching the train.

Watching another train.  I think it's a slight obsession :-)

Snack break in the room before heading home.

Tired baby.  He crashed on my shoulder in the hotel lobby while Tim went to get the car.
