Going to see the fire trucks!

Several weekends ago we took Harrison to see the fire trucks at the West VFD where his Great Uncle Robby volunteers.  As most of you know, Robby was a first responder at the explosion on April 17th.  He is still recovering, but is doing good.  It was hard to be up there and see all the names and pictures of the lives lost during the explosion, the memorial, and all the t-shirts hanging outside that were sent from different fire stations all over world.  At the same time it was fun to see Harrison's face as he ran through the fire station and climbed on the fire trucks.  He wore Uncle Robby's hat and boots and he sat in one of the fire trucks.  He had a blast!  He still talks about it when he sees a fire truck in one of his books!  I see many more visits to the fire station in our future.

Wordless Wednesday

Harrison 22 months!

Harrison turned 22 months on May 24th!

A few things about Harrison has been up to lately...

-He has a good imagination.  He pretends to go places.  The other day he and I had a conversation about where he was going. 

Harrison- "Bye-bye."

Me- "Where are you going?"

Harrison- "Store."

Me- "Oh, what are you going to buy?"

Harrison- "Juice."

As fast as he goes through juice, too bad I can't send him out to buy his own! 

-He won't count, but he understand how many 1 and 2 are. 

-He is a water baby just like last summer.  He LOVES the water hose, sprinkler, and pool.  He and I are doing "Mommy and me" swim lessons at the end of the month.  I can't wait! 

-He "shares" his toys with Kinley. 

-He hangs out with Mama C 1-2 days a week.  He loves going over there to play! 

-He continues to be somewhat jealous of Kinley, but he really does love her too.

-He has become very independent.  He will point to himself and say, "me" when he wants to do things on his own. 

-He has an AWESOME memory, and he picks up on everything we say! 

 

 

 

 

 



Kinley 1 month!

Kinley turned 1 month old on May 22!

At one month old, Kinley doesn't do much more than eat, sleep, and get her diaper changed.  She eats about 4oz every 2-4 hrs.  She's an eater!  She sleeps great during the day, and she's getting better at night.  We have 4-5 hour stretches more nights than not.  We just would like those 4-5 hour stretches to be a little earlier in the night.  Oh well, she'll get there!  We have been dealing with her having pooping issues since she was a couple weeks old.  After a formula change, it seems we have it under control!  Thank goodness! 

A few more things about Miss Kinley...
-She loves the swing just like Harrison did. 
-She loves bathtime! 
-She doesn't mind tummy time, but she makes no effort to lift her head while she's down there.  She just hangs out. 
-She will lift her head all day long while on your shoulder though. 
-She still sleeps in the pack 'n' play in our room at night.  During the day she sleeps in the swing, bouncer, her bed, and sometimes on a blanket on the floor if Harrison is napping. 
-She continues to be a really chill baby.  She doesn't get worked up very often.  Only if she's super hungry or if she's really, really tired.
