Sunday morning we left fairly early. They were excited!
We stopped in Winnie, Tx for some lunch and stretching. We had made a few quick stops before.
That night we stayed in Baton Rouge. Usually when we're out of town, we try to eat somewhere new. But... the kids were tired of the car, so the closest stop to our hotel...Texas Roadhouse.
Luggage cart shenanigans. We got back on the road fairly early Monday morning.
Destin!! We stayed at the Luau hotel on the Sandestin Resort. We loved it. Everything about the whole resort was wonderful and very family friendly. The beach was just a quick walk from our hotel, so we went straight to check it out.
The bayside of the resort had this awesome little area called Baytowne Wharf. It had plenty of shops, restaurants, and entertainment. We went there almost every night for dinner.
Harrison chose to ride the racecar on the carousel.
Tuesday- first full day in Destin. The kids LOVED the balcony. We had a corner room, so our balcony was huge. They spent a lot of time just checking things out. It wasn't soon after taking this picture that Harrison fell and scraped both knees and elbows.
We laid pretty low Tuesday because Harrison was pretty upset about his scrapes. We went to lunch at Fudpuckers. Kinley enjoyed watching the alligators.
Harrison just wanted to play.
He sat in water on one of the toys at Fudpuckers. Pantless.
After naps, we decided to give the beach a shot. Kinley wasn't so sure about the sand. Harrison had a blast once he got over his scraped knees.
Ready to go to Baytowne Wharf for dinner!
Driving a toy boat in a little pond.
Wednesday- pool day! We spent a lot of time at the pool. They had a perfect little kiddie pool that we spent a lot of time at.
Worn out after swimming.
Sweet kisses.
By the time we left there, the weather had cleared up, so we went to Pompano Joe's for lunch. Our table overlooked the beach.
Saturday morning we got going pretty early again and made it home that evening.
It was a great vacation! Overall the kids did great, and we look forward to taking them many more fun places!
