Pumpkin Patch!

Yesterday, we ventured out to the Pumpkin Patch with Brent, Michelle, and their girls.  Harrison could have cared less, but I wanted to take him and get some pictures anyway.  Thanks, Michelle, for taking pics of us!

More from Harrison's world...

The last 3 nights he has slept ALL NIGHT! Yay! He is still sleeping in the pack 'n' play, but we are hoping to get him into his crib very soon. He still loves (and would much rather) nap in his swing, but we are working on that too ;-)  

He has started "talking" soooo much! He talks in the car, when he's watching his cartoons, when he's playing, in bed, etc. He's also working on rolling over. He can do it with help, but not by himself just yet.

He is still growing like crazy!  At his 2 month appointment in September, he weighed 12lbs, 8.5oz and was 23in tall- 50% straight across the board.  He got 3 shots that day and was not a happy camper.  Hopefully the 4 month shots in November will go a little better.   

Tim and I are doing good.  As I mentioned earlier, we celebrated our 2nd anniversary on Oct. 10.  It's hard to believe it's already been 2 years!  As for work, we are both staying busy.  Tim has training in NYC in December, and I get to go with him!  (More to come on that later.)  I'm still enjoying my pre-k kiddies!  We took a field trip to the fair a couple weeks ago, and we're planning a trip to the zoo in a few weeks.

2 Months!

Harrison turned 2 months old yesterday!  I can't believe how big he has gotten and how much he has changed just in the last month!

Here are a few things about our lil' man at 2 months old...

- smiling, laughing, and cooing more and more 

- becoming more and more aware of his surroundings.  He has even started to notice Dusty walking around.

- has gotten very good at holding his head up, especially during "tummy time."

- holds onto some toys for short periods of time. 

- still enjoys eating, playing on the floor, his swing, and bathtime. 

- nights are getting better slowly, but surely. 

- discovered his hands and fingers.  He sucks on his fists, but hasn't quite figured out how to get his fingers in his mouth. 

- loves being outside, as long as he doesn't get too hot. 

- likes to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (and pretty much anything on TV).

His 2 month appointment is Friday. I can't wait to see how much he has grown since his last appointment at 2 weeks old. He will also get a series of shots :-( Hopefully he does as good a job with them as he did when he got his heel pricked.  

Harrison has experienced so many new things this last month.  First of all, I went back to work on September 12.  He has been staying with my mom 4 days a week.  She loves it, and I know he does too!  I am enjoying being back at work.  I have a great class this year!  I miss seeing him all day, every day, but I know he is in good hands!

We attempted to take him swimming for the first time, but he wasn't a fan.  I don't really blame him though, the water was COLD!  He was perfectly content just hanging out by the pool. 

He also went to his first Baylor tailgate.  Tim's work and our good friends, the McKown's, both hosted a tailgate party before the Baylor game last weekend.  He had a blast!

Yesterday, we ventured down to Houston to see Emily and Reed for the weekend.  April and JD were also there because JD's band had a gig, and Amanda stopped by for a little while too.  I'm pretty sure Harrison was just too entertained and excited to sleep.  He was pretty much up for a good 10 hours yesterday, aside from a few cat naps here and there!  He had a blast hanging out in the backyard by the pool while we ate and talked.  Needless to say, I think he wore his little self out.  He slept almost the whole way home.  He did wake up for a little while to eat, smile, and "talk" to Grams while we were at her house.

Happy 1 month! (3 days ago)

Can you believe it?!  Harrison is one month old!  Boy, people aren't kidding when they say time flies!  We are loving every minute of it!  Even those late night feedings when he stays up for a couple hours wanting to play ;-)  He is growing like crazy! His little legs and arms are finally starting to fill out. We weighed him on our scale the other day...10lbs 14oz!  Big boy!

Every day he does something new!  He is becoming more and more observant.  He has really started to watch as Tim and I walk in front of him, or when we come into his view.  Even though he still sleeps alot, he's becoming more and more active.  He loves playing on the floor on his play mats.  He still loves his swing.  In fact, most of his naps are in that swing.  He's getting better and better with holding up his head and looking around.  He smiles ALOT, and I just know sometimes he's laughing at Tim and I!  He's starting to coo and "talk"- usually right after he gets his diaper changed or when he's in a really good mood.  He LOVES bathtime!  I look forward to bath nights :-)

Harrison is quite the party man!  He has been to 2 birthday parties in the last couple weeks.  He did a great job at both.  He actually slept through most of them.

As for Tim and I...  We are doing great.  We are pretty much adjusted to less sleep, but we still try to squeeze in a nap when possible.  We are learning more and more every day about being parents and taking care of our Lil' Man.  My mom (Mama C) has watched him for us a couple evenings so we have been able to enjoy a couple dinner dates by ourselves and with friends.  We are so thankful to have family close by who are willing to watch Harrison. 

2 weeks and growing!

Harrison had his 2 week appointment today.  He is a growing boy- weighing in at 8.9lbs and 20in long!  The doc said everything looked great.  He got his little heel pricked, but he took it like a champ!  He probably took it better than his Mommy and Daddy would've :-) 

A few tidbits about our Lil' Man...
- LOVES to swing!
- Enjoys playing on the floor.
- Very observant.
- Likes to push up on our shoulders and look around when he's supposed to be burping :-)
- On average sleeps in 3 hours at a time.
- Eats like crazy!
- Not a fan of getting his clothes changed.
- Car rides calm him.  (I have a feeling he's going to be like Tim and I and sleep when he gets in a car.)

I also got a good report from my doctor today.  The recovery process has been much easier than I ever expected.  And, boy is it nice to almost be back to feeling like my normal self again!

Tim and I are adjusting to being parents.  I feel like we are starting to get into somewhat of a routine.  We don't get much sleep, but we wouldn't change it for anything!  We try to sneak in a nap whenever possible :-)

Harrison is HERE!



Harrison Riley arrived yesterday afternoon at 3:03pm.  He was 7lbs 7oz and 19.5in...much smaller than everyone thought!  Everyone is doing great, and it looks like we will all be released tomorrow afternoon/evening.  We are beyond happy and excited!  Thanks to everyone who has come by, emailed, texted, and called.  We are truly blessed!
